Lou Michels and The Chief kick off the show to cover The Federal Reserve and their rate hikes, interest rates and inflation. Lou chimes in on the horrendous Orlando shooting.

Megan McArdle of Bloomberg joins us on the show to further our discussions and gives her viewpoint on why the poor get poorer, the rich get richer and just how can we fix this?

Lou Michels

Lou Michels is an employment and sports law attorney with a national law firm, who is also an NFL player agent. He joins the Stocks & Jocks show every Thursday morning from Denver, Colorado. Lou represents companies and individuals in dealing with workplace problems ranging from labor union and discrimination cases to employment contracts and trade secret disputes. He played football at Air Force, and graduated from Duke Law School, where he developed an appreciation for college basketball. He is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel. Lou grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, and Minneapolis, where his father was a professional football coach for the Minnesota Vikings for almost 30 years. Read more.

 

Megan McArdle

Megan McArdle (born January 29, 1973) is a journalist and blogger based in Washington, D.C.. She writes mostly about economics, finance and government policy from a libertarian perspective.

She began her writing career with a blog, “Live From The WTC”, started in November 2001. In 2003 she was hired by The Economist to write for their website, and since then she has worked full-time as a journalist and editor, both online and in print. Publications she has worked for include The Economist, The Atlantic, Newsweek/The Daily Beast and Bloomberg View. She was a Bernard L. Schwartz fellow at The New America Foundation.She has also had book reviews and opinion pieces published in the New York Post, The New York Sun, Reason, The Guardian[3] and Salon.com
