Lou describes why the super delegates were put in place and how they prevent party outsiders like Bernie Sanders from winning the primary. The Chief is concerned with our country’s election practices and thinks we should be shifting to a more democratic system like France. The second hour starts off with Chief’s in-depth analysis of the job numbers which leads to a discussion that takes a close look at our labor practices. The two debate the perks of reinstating a military draft or establishing a volunteer corp draft, as well as whether we’d be better off going to a single payer healthcare system.

The Chief and Maddie kick off the show discussing the Kentucky Derby and the wildfires ravaging Canada. Chris Manns joins in for a discussion of the election and the party system. The crew wonders if the increasing popularity of party “outsiders” like Trump and Sanders will break the 2 party system. Stocks & Jocks friend Karl Denninger calls in with an analysis of the labor market. He says he’s not buying the optimism reflected in the recent job reports. From Arizona, John Neal calls with his stock of the week and gives his two cents on whether John McCain can hold his senate seat another term. David Andalman takes out the show with his market analysis. As far as he can tell the future is rocky but we may be exactly where we are now in 2 months.

The Chief wonders how Trump’s harsh New York-ness hasn’t turned the country off from his charms. In the first hour Lou and the Chief rekindle their debate over Uber and discuss the national deficit as well as the average American family’s debt. Later they discuss how the US broke the Russian economy and how we’re not in a war right now but one seems inevitable within the next ten years. In between talking about politics and markets, The Chief and Lou find time to discuss gym etiquette and women’s hairstyle fads.
