John Neal directs PTI Securities’ Glendale, Arizona office serving the firm’s clients in the Phoenix metro area and across the Western U.S. He oversees day-to-day operations, including client services, investor education, staff management and marketing. John has more than 12 years of management experience in the securities and financial services industry. He joined PTI Securities in 2003 in this role. Prior to that time, he was a branch manager with Phoenix area firms, Granite Capital Management and, most recently, Independent Financial Management. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John earned a bachelor’s degree in international management from Arizona State University in Tempe. Away from work, John enjoys reading, live music and outdoor activities. He also volunteers with the St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Lupus Foundation of America. Married with two children, John and his family live in Peoria, Arizona.

Phil grew up watching planes at La Guardia Airport from his home across Flushing Bay in Queens, NY. Evolving from aviation photography and writing work, he created this website to be the online headquarters for aviation enthusiasts from around the world. He writes for and maintains most sections of the website and performs social media duties while handling public relations and day-to-day business for the organization, including expert consulting for mainstream media outlets.
Phil’s background includes coordinating advertising campaigns in a major Madison Avenue marketing firm, as a US military charter Loadmaster and as an FAA certified airline dispatcher. Kathy Dervin has been with Stocks & Jocks since 2011 as our Friday morning contributor, producer and banking guru. She has worked in the financial markets industry since 1993, including PC Quote/HyperFeed 1993 to 2003 and Thomson Reuters 2003 to 2013. She is currently Vice President at an investment bank. Kevin Riordan began his career in the futures industry in 1984, working his way through Loyola University while on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. Since becoming a futures broker in 1990, Kevin has worked with thousands of clients and developed an excellent understanding of many technical trading methods and techniques. Brendan Cournane is a public finance attorney who joins Stocks & Jocks every Tuesday morning. He has practiced law for more than 35 years acting primarily as counsel to issuers of municipal debt (bond counsel, underwriters’ counsel, bank counsel and special counsel). He has served in both the private and the public sectors, having been a partner in major U.S. law firms and as in-house counsel to such entities as the City of Chicago and Chicago Public Schools, as well as General Counsel to the Illinois Finance Authority, one of the nation’s largest issuers of conduit municipal bonds.
